Quilted leggins – protective accessories for medieval attire

Quilted hose were an integral part of medieval combat attire. Their main function was to protect against abrasion and absorb impact, making them a practical and essential piece of warrior equipment. Thanks to their layered construction, they provided effective cushioning while also ensuring comfort when wearing heavier armor.

In the Middle Ages, quilted leggins were worn both on their own and as a layer underneath – under chainmail leggins or other pieces of armor. They protected the body, increased comfort, and extended the durability of the weapons worn over them.

Today, reenactors and history enthusiasts appreciate their practicality and historical authenticity, choosing them as part of faithfully recreated combat ensembles.

Our quilted combat clothing consists of:

  • a linen outer layer for durability and comfort,
  • a linen lining,
  • a linen/cotton reinforcement under the outer layer,
  • and a natural wool filling for insulation and comfort.

The number of layers allows for comfortable wear and ensures your safety during knightly combat.
