Cloaks were one of the most practical garments in middleages, worn by all social groups, both males and females young and old. They came in handy in every possible situation – they gave protection against wind, cold and rain, in travel, in the woods or in the city. In some situations they were used for covering oneself in the nights. Cloaks were most commonly cut out of 1/2, 3/4 or full circle. They were tied buttoned or closed with fibulas. This particular model is sewn out of wool linned with linen and closed on the shoulder with 10 fabric buttons.
