Hoods were very popular during the whole Middle Ages period. Worn by every class. Primarily made from wool, sometimes with linen lining. Hoods gave excellent protection against weather as well as they fullfilled decorative role.
This particularly interesting hood was used mainly in second half of XIV th century. Based upon fresco „ Jesse Tree” from ST. Johns church in Toruń. Cut of two parts plus two wedges. Hood has long liripipe. Apart from standard lacing under the armpits it is possible to order the hood closed with small buckles on decorational hand weaved ribbon ( paid addtionally, price depends on choosen details).
