Quilted accessories were an essential part of medieval protective clothing. Their main role was to protect the body from abrasion, increase the comfort of wearing armor, and absorb impacts. Thanks to their layered construction with stitching, they provided flexibility and durability, and could be worn both on their own and as a base for mail or plate elements.

The most common quilted accessories included:

  • quilted collars, protecting the neck and shoulders,
  • quilted coifs, worn under a helmet or on their own,
  • quilted hoods, protecting the head and neck,
  • quilted gloves, protecting the hands.

Such items were essential for every combatant – they increased comfort, reduced the risk of injury, and extended the durability of armor. Today, reenactors and history buffs value them for both their practicality and historical authenticity.

Our quilted combat clothing consists of:

  • a linen outer layer for durability and comfort,
  • a linen lining,
  • a linen/cotton reinforcement under the outer layer,
  • and a natural wool filling for insulation and comfort.

The number of layers allows for comfortable wear and ensures your safety during knightly combat.
